Today is World Radio Day! Here are a few fast facts about our radio operations:
- Our radio programming reached 96 million people in 2012.
- Additional FM transmitters were installed this year in Misrata and Tripoli to extend the reach of Radio Sawa.
- Last year four new FM stations in Afghanistan, bringing the total to 12, giving VOA Dari and Pashto programs a wider reach with a clear, FM quality signal. [more details in this pdf]
